Zillow had more than 220 million average monthly unique users and the Zestimate, and about three and a half years earlier had decided to make Zillow Offers a big bet. On November 2, 2021, it announced the wind-down of the business after a $304 million inventory write-down, a 25% workforce reduction and a stated inability to forecast home prices accurately. The audience did not give Zillow the ability to price homes months ahead.
